Co-founded in 2011 by L Thapa & B Richardson, The Hungry Buddha now is one of Canberra's successful business. Lachhu's little interest in cooking was enough to bring up an idea with Ben one day while they used to carpool on their way to work in Canberra's south as public servants. Then all the fun and adventure began. After all these years, The Hungry Buddha is one of the household names in Canberra. Lachhu has since gone on to build a successful travel company that takes tours to Nepal called the Nepal Adventures. After the 2015 earthquakes, Lachhu has also co-founded the REACH for Nepal Foundation with Canberra friend and mentor Lou Nulley. The Hungry Buddha is in Belconnen in Canberra’s North. The original Southside restaurant in Curtin is closed as of September 2017.
